Product description

»Refuge Denied« (1987) is the first album by Seattle-based thrash metal band Sanctuary. Originally recorded by Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, the band recorded two albums for Epic and unfortunately disbanded a short time later. Mustaine had the honour of producing »Refuge Denied«, and with good success. The sonic recipe consists of excellent guitar riffing by guitarists Lenny Rutledge and Sean Blosl, accompanied by aggressive but melodic vocals by Warrel Dane and driving bass lines by Jim Sheppard. It even includes a cover version of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit." "Refuge Denied" was to prove to be a stepping stone to the equally excellent follow-up Into The Mirror Black. Dane and Sheppard would go on to form prog metal kings Nevermore. »Refuge Denied« is available in a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on blue vinyl and includes a supplement with lyrics.
