Saxon - Carpe Diem CD Neu
Saxon use their time »Carpe Diem« is actually a sentence from Horace's ode »To Leukonoë«, but today it is a well-known phrase and a popular motif of wall tattoos. British heavy metal icons Saxon have taken these words as a model and titled their new, now 23rd studio album, the successor to 2018's »Thunderbolt« and their cover album »Inspirations«, which was released in 2021. "The Latin 'Carpe Diem' is known to everyone and 'seize the day' is something that should really be said and done more often, [...] The Roman poet Horace wrote this sentence in 23 BC in one of his poems, which is still used to this day. Don't put anything off until tomorrow! And as soon as it's possible again, we'll go on the ›Seize The Day World Tour‹ with the album. There is a lot of power in the phrase 'Carpe Diem'!" says frontman and co-founder Biff Byford. And you can already feel this power in the title track. The song shows Saxon in pure form – decisive and determined. The metal flag is aggressively held high and fervently shows old and new fans that sticking together is the order of the day and that Saxon and the genre itself must be celebrated. Byford continues about the album: "It all starts with the riff. If the reef appeals to me, we're on the right track. It's a very intense album and it's limited to the fact that a great metal song starts with a very good riff and this album has a lot of that." Ten to be precise. And they were recorded by Byford (vocals), Paul Quinn (guitar), Nigel Glockler
