Product description

Sprints undoubtedly laid the foundation for their musical career with their debut album, "Letter To Self," in 2024. That same year, the band, fronted by Karla Chubb, toured Europe, the UK, and the USA twice. Their new album, "All That Is Over," is a remarkable second work that pushes the band's dynamic even further, sounds even more nuanced, but loses none of its raw energy. While many bands would be burned out and in need of a break after such a hectic start, Karla became all the more productive and creative. "There was just so much happening and so much to process," she explains. "I was going through a big breakup with my partner of eight years; Colm had left the band; we'd really progressed into being professional musicians, and I was at the start of a new relationship. But then you look outside and it's like the world has never been uglier." I was writing every day because there was so much going on. In this field of tension between anger, ambition, and a thousand other emotions in between, "All That Is Over" lays its cards on the table. The album was written on tour buses, during soundchecks, and in real time. Against the backdrop of a litany of atrocities—the war in the Middle East, the Los Angeles wildfires, Trump's executive order that curtails the rights of trans people—Sprints attempt to make sense of a society gone mad.

The new album "All That Is Over" by the Irish band Sprints is released via City Slang (in the US via Sub Pop Records). Track listing: Abandon, To the Bone, Descartes, Need, Beg, Rage, Something's Gonna Happen, Pieces, Better, Coming Alive, Desire
