Product description

As the youngest son of a family of musicians, PAUL JOSEPH PETERSON was discovered in 1983, at the age of 17, by none other than PRINCE and engaged as THE TIME keyboardist for the departed MONTE MOIR. He gained worldwide fame with the band in 1984 through an appearance in the legendary film »Purple Rain«. In the same year, after the album "Ice Cream Castle", which was placed high in the Billboard charts, the band disbanded with the hits "Jungle Love" or "The Bird". Still convinced of PETERSON, PRINCE built the band THE FAMILY around him as lead singer immediately afterwards. The self-titled album, which was mainly composed and partly recorded by PRINCE, produced the successful singles »The Screams Of Passion« and »Nothing Compares 2 You«, which later gained worldwide attention due to the SINÉAD O'CONNOR cover. In the years that followed, he was mainly active as a musician, producer and songwriter for artists such as the STEVE MILLER BAND, KENNY LOGGINS, PETER FRAMPTON or PAULA ABDUL, but was also able to celebrate a successful comeback with THE FAMILY under the new band name FDELUXE. »Break On Free« is the exciting album of an experienced artist who, even after 40 years, shines with his multifaceted richness and a sense of groove and directly inspires fans of funk, soul and disco in the style of PRINCE.   Tracklisting Break On Free Something In The Water I Couldn't Do It Without You Beauty Beyond The Darkness You Got 2 Love Another Glass Of You Big City Broken Arrow Love's In Need Of Love Today Minne Forget Me Not Blue Cadillac Song For Julie (Forever I'll Love You)
