Tankard are a thrash metal band from Frankfurt, Germany, formed in 1982. Together with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard are often referred to as the "Big Teutonic 4" of German thrash metal. They released their first album in 1986 and since then they have continued to write and record as they started back then: with fast thrash metal over beer and alcohol. Tankard's second album, »Chemical Invasion«, followed their debut in 1987 and took the gears up a huge step in terms of technology and production. Still recorded with a proper wink, these nine tracks contain an additional boost of power and precision in addition to the usual portion of slapstick this time. With this album, Tankard managed to break out of the underground and brought them the full attention of fans all over the world.
