Tankard are a thrash metal band from Frankfurt, Germany, formed in 1982. Together with Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Tankard are often referred to as the »Big Teutonic 4« of German thrash metal. They released their first album in 1986 and since then they have continued to write and record as they started back then: with fast thrash metal over beer and alcohol. Tankard's sixth studio album, »Two Faced«, came out in 1993, and while other bands experimented with industrial and nu metal in the nineties, the band stood steadfast and true to their thrash roots. » "Two-Faced" (with its satirical cover) was probably the band's socio-political work and is a raging beast that puts aside its early humor in favor of biting sounds with attacks against a slipping society. This is one of the reasons why this album is another jewel in Tankard's crown.
