Product description

The Alan Parsons Project's debut studio album was originally released in June 1976. The album's lyrical and musical themes are retellings of horror stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe. Musicians featured on the album include vocalists Arthur Brown of The Crazy World of Arthur Brown on "The Tell Tale Heart," John Miles on "The Cask of Amontillado" and "(The System of) Dr. Tarr and Professor Fether," and Terry Sylvester of The Hollies on "To One in Paradise." The full lineup of the bands Ambrosia and Pilot also appears on the album, along with keyboardist Francis Monkman of Curved Air and Sky. The album was a worldwide success, selling nearly a million copies and achieving platinum status in several countries, including Germany and Canada. This 180g black vinyl remaster, pressed at half speed, was remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios and features a sleeve note with quotes from Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson.
