Freiburg's Das Blanke Extrem is back after 5 years with the third album. On it, the band invites you to a wild ride on the ridge of the roof and to tear down walls in the basement. Until the statics wobble alarmingly. »Prekär« is not a protest album, but an invitation to downfall carved in marble. It is the realization that abundance and abyss are the best friends. »Prekärist« is post-punk through and through. On their third album, however, Das Blanke Extrem follows the consistent further development of their individual style, which opens many a pigeonhole without falling into them. From dreamy and playful to straightforward and direct, angular bass lines, shimmering guitars and stoic drums meet lyrics that are sometimes relentlessly personal, sometimes hopelessly prophetic. And yet: Anyone who recognises themselves as shocked when they look in the mirror after listening to »Prekär« is inclined to hang up their despair once again.
