1978: The Etchers are founded in Limburg by Jürgen Beuth and C B Bodenstein and are among the pioneers of German post-punk along with DAF, S. Y.P. H. etc. The musical mastermind, Beuth, multi-instrumentalist and composer, creates the musical scenario to the shrill texts of the etchers. The sequencer chugs mercilessly, the guitar drives and scratches and poppy, childlike melodies form the icing on the cake. Unrestrained experimentation rules! Bodenstein is the singer and lyricist. His topics are the top ten topics that are not talked about at the table. The lyrics are bizarre comic fantasies: subversive, caustically sarcastic, morbid and often on the pulse of time.
