Product description

"RUM SODOMY & THE LASH," produced by Elvis Costello, was the second studio album by the London-based Irish folk-punk band. Costello, who was originally hired to produce the singles, extended his stay to work on the entire album. At the time, he said: "I saw my role as capturing them in their decaying glory before a more professional producer ruined them."

This 40th anniversary edition contains the original album on CD and LP, as well as a bonus disc of the legendary EP "POGUETRY IN MOTION" featuring tracks from the BBC Janice Long session of July 1985 and the B-sides of the original singles. The bonus CD is rounded out by rare live versions of "A Pair Of Brown Eyes" and "Sally MacLennane," recorded in December 1987 at Glasgow Barrowland, and a rough mix of the outtake from "POGUETRY IN MOTION," the band's version of "Do You Believe In Magic" by The Lovin' Spoonful.
