The Sultans Of Ping FC (The Sultans Of Ping): Casual Sex in the Cineplex (180g) Limited Numbered LP
Limited to 1000 copies. Total sales rank: 8070. Sales rank in LPs: 2334. The Sultans of Ping are an Irish band formed in 1988. The band's name is a reference to the Dire Straits song "Sultans of Swing" from 1978, a time when "it was considered blasphemy to say anything funny or mean about Dire Straits." After several lineup changes, the band gained the attention of the Irish and British music press with the release of "Where's Me Jumper" in January 1992. Following several other independently released singles, the band signed with Epic Records, brokered by Martin Heath of Rhythm King Records. With Epic, the band released their debut album, "Casual Sex in the Cineplex." This 1993 debut album reached number 23 in the UK Albums Chart and includes the singles "Where's Me Jumper," "Stupid Kid," and "You Talk Too Much." These singles reached numbers 8, 11, and 4 respectively in the Irish Singles Chart. "Casual Sex In The Cineplex" is available in a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on pink vinyl and includes an insert.
