Dreams of Being Dust is the band's fifth studio album and follows their well-received 2021 release, Illusory Walls, which Stereogum called their "heaviest, most proggy, and boldest release to date." Pitchfork praised the scathing indictments of complex social and political issues such as religion and capitalism as "furious at the ruthless greed and self-interest that drive societal collapse." If Illusory Walls was their grand reckoning, then "Dreams Of Being Dust" is the result: raw, furious, alive.
