»The AZ Of The UK Subs« will be available for the first time on Edsel in a complete CD box set containing all 26 albums, from »Another Kind Of Blues« to »Ziezo«. The set includes an incredible 542 tracks recorded and released over the band's 37-year career and is presented in a sturdy box with 26 individual sleeves and original artwork.
Founded in 1976 by frontman Charlie Harper, the UK Subs set themselves the goal early in their career of releasing an album for each letter of the alphabet, a feat they finally accomplished in 2016. Their first four albums all charted in the UK: "Another Kind of Blues" (number 21), "Brand New Age" (number 18), "Crash Course" (number 8), and "Diminished Responsibility" (number 18). These albums also featured classic British punk singles such as "Stranglehold" (number 26), "Tomorrow's Girls" (number 28), "She's Not There" (number 36), "Warhead" (number 30), "Teenage" (number 32), "Party in Paris" (number 37), and "Keep on Runnin'" (number 41). In addition to the albums, »The AZ of the UK Subs« includes all singles, B-sides, and rare compilation tracks not featured on the album. All albums have been remastered, so the Subs have never looked or sounded better.
"The AZ of the UK Subs" was recorded with 16 guitarists, 20 bassists, 22 drummers... and one singer! Charlie Harper - along with long-time bassist Alvin Gibbs - leads the band to this day and will release his highly anticipated autobiography, "An Anarchy Of Demons," in September 2025, which is sure to generate a huge buzz in the mainstream music and entertainment press.
